Fidelity Patio Renovation

Renovations on an existing Café Patio and the addition of a new ADA ramp in Marlborough MA. In order to minimize the disruption to the occupants, demolition was competed off hours.

The major concern was that the existing patio having concrete inserts surrounded by a border of brick pavers was moving at different rates causing a tripping hazard. The solution was to provide reinforced concrete sections using a colored concrete border to match the look the client was after.

A new ADA ramp was designed at one end of the patio to provide the necessary access required by today’s code. The architect wanted a clean look along the ramp slab so the lower face brick was installed prior to the concrete ramp being poured, then finished against the underside of the upper ramp.
